Finding awareness through movement, I'm committed to changing education for the better. My old blog Rainbowhill Language Lab is still a great place for learning about Japanese language and culture, it's just a little quiet these days.
Reflect deeply upon the certainty and suddenness of our death’s approach and remember that our body is merely an object on loan. If we can gain a deep understanding of these points our mind will definitely change. We shall no longer waste our time and a new meaning and purpose will be given to our life. Otherwise we shall merely be marking time until death comes.
I tell you, friend, that it isn’t possible by traveling to know or see or reach a far end of the cosmos where one doesn’t take birth, age, die, pass away, or reappear. But at the same time, I tell you that there is no making an end of suffering & stress without reaching the end of the cosmos. Yet it is just within this fathom-long body, with its perception & intellect, that I declare that there is the cosmos, the origination of the cosmos, the cessation of the cosmos, and the path of practice leading to the cessation of the cosmos.
I wrote a paper on this (the Visible Human Project) back in my undergraduate days.
I have some of my old exercise physiology and anatomy papers lying around, I’m not sure that anyone else would like to read them. Although, they could be good exemplars for my kids when they get to uni.

It’s said it takes seven years
to grow completely new skin cells.
To think, this year I will grow
into a body you never will have touched.
All too soon, this body will lie on the ground cast off, bereft of consciousness, like a useless scrap of wood.
True dat.
Creepy, right?
But it makes sense.
We like to think about love in some symbolic and emotional sense, but what about the physical?
- The way your heart flutters when you think of a person.
- Your body temperature increases and the palms of your hands sweat as you grow excited.
- You can actually become light-headed or weak at the knees.
- Life looks, sounds, feels, tastes and even smells better when you’re in love.
And when you’re heart-broken:
- You feel a tightness in the chest feels like the physical breaking of your heart
- You suffer from partial or complete insomnia
- You lose your appetite, have a stomach ache, and are even nauseous
- You’re always tired and fatigued
- You have anhedonia, an inability to feel pleasure
The heart muscle initiates its own contractions and beats independently of any external innervation. The electrical currents generated by the heart flow through the body and are measurable on the surface of the skin.
The body is your temple. Keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in.
The food we take into our mouth goes into our stomach, where it gets digested and eventually assimilates into the bloodstream. Our blood is what creates our cells, our tissues, our organs, our skin, our hair, our brains and even our thoughts and feelings. We are, at our most basic level, walking food.
