This is awesome news, which could potentially catalyse a real revolution in how we consume our entertainment. At present, television’s main advantage over the net is that it’s where the writing talent is - this could change that. It also presents a potentially practical way that screen writers, who work best in groups, could manifest what Jakob Lodwick dubbed “The Individual Revolution.”

Expect this revolution to continue to happen in any industry that attempts to cling to a dated business paradigm. Those that attempt to hold on tighter to what they already have, will loose it much faster than they would have ever expected to.

So who will rise to the top as paradigms shift? Expect social trends to follow technology, where the trends are towards openess and shared knowledge versus secrecy and propriety. Those that stand to profit from the new decentralisation of commerce will be smaller and more mobile, able to adjust more rapidly to changes in trading relationships.

As an individual, consumer and producer, understanding your place in this ‘now economy’ is essential to making a go of it.

Educate yourself, reach out and find what you have in common with others.
