chris asked: Have you always been this absurdly (don't get me wrong - brilliantly, but absurdly) healthy, or was it a conscious change?
Thanks Chris. I grew up on a diet largely of whole food. My dad was fanatical about fitness and my mum ran a healthfood cafe in a city gym between the three aerobics classes a day she used to teach. I honestly haven’t known much else. My whole family is a bit like that. On my mum’s side grandfather plays 18 holes of golf twice a week and recently won a pro-am comp at the age of 82. My grandfather on my dad’s side took up weights at the age of 89. I recently had the pleasure of training with him (30 minutes of kickboxing warm-up and an hour of free-weights) in my uncles gym. He is 90.
I’ve recently become more conscious of it as a consequence of aging and injury. I realise that my health and happiness are inextricably linked. They are a platform for self-actualisation.
The decision to detox is about living fully in the moment with out taxing my internal organs. They have to serve me at least another 40 years.
