The metallic taste in my mouth has started to fade, the first three days I alternated between salt water gargling and tongue brushing to rid myself of the film. I imagine that my body is starting to deal with the toxins built up over the years as if it is coming in to contact with them for the first time.
I’ve noticed my skin is a lot softer and more translucent, by belt is a lot tighter. I almost had a mild panic on the bus in the morning when I realised I may have left my belt at home. Lucky I had a spare at work, now I don’t have to re-live that childhood nightmare of appearing in public with pants down around my ankles.
I’ve been walking the last 5 or 6 kilometres into work, I even had the strength to throw in a few stair climbs and some push-ups and crunches at Jacobs Ladder in the pouring rain. My colleagues have a really good sense of humour about it all, and some are considering making changes to their consumption of sugars and stimulants.
I don’t feel the need to consume coffee, or Red Bull, but I still have the occasional cup of tea. Mostly green teas and herbal teas. I’ve found that I am alternating between fruit and vegetable juices, with green juices being mostly at lunch and dinner. The green powder has the strongest effect on my digestive system, whereas the banana smoothies and acai berry juices have the most soothing effect.
I’ve found some kind of balance that I can now maintain for the next 4 days.
