mrfrustrationman replied to your post: Juice Fast Day 7 First, happy belated birthday! :) Your log about this fast made me curious and I’m thinking about taking it myself. You mentioned a few books before, are there any other resources you followed, have advice for people who’d do this? Thanks! I feel great. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the juice fast afk. Happy to share the...

dobetternow: tomorrow is the first day of NO EXCUSES! get off your ass and get things (work, etc) done so you can go out into the world and be a no-excuses, kick-ass awesome YOU! :D in runlojorun’s ask box. But then I realized that once I sent it, I wouldn’t be able to copy-paste it into other people’s ask boxes. And then I realized that I wanted to copy it into EVERYONE’s ask box. So here...

Inspired Aspiration: My Take: "Does Yoga Count As... →
bmbanford: As a seasoned yogi, I felt the need to respond to the article “Does Yoga Count As Cardio?” by Ben Greenfield, which was posted today (1/27/12) on the HuffPost Healthy Living. Likewise. Don’t forget that despite the obvious benefits to your outlook on life, and the fact that there is not a single cell in the body that is not reached by yoga, fat burns in oxygen. When you look...

Juice Fast Day 7
I spent day 7 planning my return to the world of solid food. I prepared some bircher muesli and soaked some lentils. mum did a whirlwind stop over to bake a vegan carrot cake. What would I do differently about this fast, if I had the chance again? I’d probably be a little scientific about it. I didn’t take any reliable measure of the physiological changes happening. I didn’t...

Juice Fast Day 6
I am feeling noticeably lighter, and my tightest jeans are hanging off my hips. I’m a bit tender in the guts after having all the detritus evacuated, so I’m taking my yoga easily. Twisting postures are certainly easier, and forward bends are now able to gently massage the stomach through proper breathing without much effort at all. I plan to break the fast on Sunday. I have a bircher...

Tumblr replies/messages aren’t long enough! This goes out to sufigeek who requests an insight into weight loss and focus [although focus may have to wait, this post is already too long!]. I’ve lived a very active life, although I have had periods where I let myself go a little overeating and drinking too much. It is hard for me to understand what it’s like for people that...

The Solar System set to music: via Brainpickings →
bhaktiandbreakdance: Daniel Starr-Tambor’s Mandala — a remarkably dimensional musical composition created by assigning each planet in the Solar System a particular note along the natural harmonic series, starting with Mercury’s B and going all the way up by two octaves and a ninth to Pluto’s C#. The composition is a palindrome, which means it can be played the same way in either direction,...

Perfect Yoga Body? Not a Chance. →
storyofacollegeyogi: Alanna Kaivalya responds to the Equinox vid, as well as some assumptions our society has about what a yogi “should” be. Fave quotes: Yoga challenges us to see what’s right about our bodies rather than what is wrong. It asks us to be happy with what is rather than what needs to be changed. Yoga instills acceptance… in our large thighs, cellulite, wrinkles and tight...
